Do you name your possessions?

When I was in the Dominican Republic for my church many moons ago, I had a companion who cleverly named some of his more treasured possessions. For example, as I recall, his bicycle was Teancum, and his briefcase was Gus.

The love affair that some Kindle owners are apparently having with their new reading buddies has inspired them to name their precious possessions. I'm thinking of doing the same.

Let's make it a poll... What name do you think is appropriate for Clark's Kindle?

(I can't wait to see what y'all say.)

I just tried to think of any possessions that I have assigned names too. At first, I thought it was silly until I remembered that I named my last car "Zippy".

I don't think I will be able to name the little critter until I get a chance to experience it's personality, and then and only then will have enough information to give it a name. I do, however, like the name you placed on your new phone, "The Oracle".

Jeffrey? Actually I like Leroy best. That was the name of my father's car (a 1988 Ford Taurus) that my daughter Catherine drove until this year -- Leroy Brown to be precise. Do Kindles come in colors? I know the very question reveals how provincial I've become.

Okay. Tough choices here. My favorite is Mrs. Minniver's Patented Miracle Biblioteque Machine, but it's a little long. I love the way it rolls off the tongue, but introductions would take time.

Little Stevie is good. I like Little Steve. It keeps the relationship clear.

No decision yet though.

Pat, two colors -- white and charcoal.

Mini Me really cracks me up, like it's Clark's long lost semi robotic child.
